Spiles and tubing and vacuums, oh my!

IT BEGINS IN THE WOODS...

Picture

It all begins with a maple tree...here you can see one of our trees tapped with a spile and some blue tubing.

The tubing runs throughout the woods

A vacuum is used to pull some of the sap out of the tree and the blue contraption is a releaser that releases the sap from the lines, but also maintains vacuum.

This is our evaporator, which boils the water out of the sap and makes it into syrup! See the syrup getting emptied into the small barrel? This is syrup is transferred to drums and stored until it's bottled and enjoyed by many!
